A taste of the Peak District in every pint
Nestled in the heart of the Peak District, the Packhorse Inn is a historic pub that has long been regarded as one of the best in the region. With its stunning location just off the Monsal Trail, the pub is surrounded by some of the most breathtaking scenery the Peaks have to offer. Whether you're looking to enjoy a relaxing drink by one of our three open fires or soak up the sun in our covered and heated pergola, the Packhorse Inn is the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the beauty of the Peak District.
We pride ourselves on being a warm and welcoming pub, where muddy boots, kids, and dogs are all welcome. Our doors are open to all, whether you're a local looking for a good honest pint or a visitor exploring the many attractions of the Peak District. We are ideally located for those staying in the lovely holiday cottages on our doorstep, and we are just a short drive from some of the best known attractions in the area, including Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, and the Monsal Trail.
Eat and Drink at the Packhorse Inn
At the Packhorse Inn, we are passionate about delivering a true taste of the Peak District to our customers. We source all of our food locally, bringing you the finest meat, game, breads, and cheeses from the best producers in Derbyshire. Our menu changes on a monthly basis to ensure that we always deliver the freshest seasonal produce, and we are proud to be serving a wide range of cask ales and lagers, including regular features from Black Sheep and local brewery Thornbridge Brewery in Bakewell. We always have three Thornbridge beers on tap, including the award-winning Jaipur pale ale, and a fourth guest beer. We also have a sixth hand pull that features regularly changing still ciders, and a concise but effective wine list provided by Hattersley Wines in Bakewell. A full range of spirits, tea, and coffee are also available.
We are regulars in the Good Beer Guide and are proud of our reputation for serving excellent beers and wines. We welcome you to pop in for a pint and try them for yourself!
