Our team of dynamic and innovative engineers operate from our prestigious head offices in Basildon, Essex, and predominantly serve the Education, Healthcare, Leisure, and Commercial sectors, including Residential Developments, throughout London and the South East of England.

Our group of companies, comprising Essex Group Limited, Essex Electrical Contractors Limited, and Essex Electrical & Mechanical Contracts Limited, collectively trade under the banner of Essex Group. We undertake all aspects of electrical and mechanical engineering, from initial design brief to completion, as either trade contractors or principal contractors, in both single or combined disciplines. Our ultimate mission is to provide an unparalleled, fully coordinated mechanical, electrical, and plumbing 'one stop' solution to all our clients' building services requirements, from general refurbishments to full M&E design and install turnkey packages on contracts up to a value of 5 million.

Our Services

Our comprehensive range of services is designed to cater to the diverse needs of our clients. We offer design and coordination services, where our in-house CAD capability and resources are used to verify, develop, and coordinate consultant engineers' tender and design intent drawings and models. We also supplement our resources with trusted external consultant engineers and BIM consultants to produce detailed coordinated MEP 3D models utilizing industry-standard modeling software.

Our electrical services include producing cost-effective and innovative designs, installing, testing, and commissioning electrical installations to the highest standards in the construction industry. With over 25 years of trading history, we have a proven track record of undertaking a wide variety of electrical installations across a broad spectrum of commercial, educational, healthcare, retail, and residential developments.

Our mechanical services division, established in 1995, offers our clients the option to employ a multi-disciplined and fully coordinated contractor that can undertake a full range of mechanical and public health services installations, including all aspects of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning. Our combined electrical and mechanical team collaborates closely to ensure smooth delivery of services that are fully coordinated from initial design stage through to completion on site, and to the highest standards.

We also offer allied services, such as building management, control systems, and control panels, passive ICT infrastructure and cabling networks, lightning protection works, security systems, and automation. These specialist activities are managed and coordinated by our own management team.

Additionally, we provide testing and commissioning services to meet our clients' specifications and the relevant codes of practice, including those published by CIBSE and BSRIA. These services may include electrical testing, pre-commissioning, HVAC setting to work, balancing and regulation, environmental checks and tests, sound level readings, light level readings, and BMS/controls commissioning.
