Our History
Established in 1966, Cousins Engineering has built a reputation as one of the leading sub-contract suppliers of turned and milled components, working with a variety of materials comprising of stainless steels, hastelloy, mild steels, brass, aluminium alloys, and a range of plastics. Our history dates back to 1966 when Rex Cousins founded the company in a small workshop at the bottom of his garden. Over the years, we have grown steadily, invested in the latest technology, and expanded our capacity to cater to the increasing demands of our customers.
Our Services
At Cousins Engineering, we believe a highly skilled workforce is the key to our business success, and therefore, we continually train our staff in the appropriate disciplines. Our engineers use their skill and experience in precision engineering to advise customers on the design of their components, where opportunities exist to achieve greater cost efficiencies. We offer a range of services, including CNC multitasking machining, CNC milling, CNC turning, CAD/CAM, and stock control. We also provide supplementary services, such as anodizing, heat treatment, painting, plating, precision hand deburring, and welding.
Our Capabilities
Our capabilities allow us to manufacture components from prototype to large batch sizes. We operate with 21st-century machining techniques, using the latest Mazak Integrex multi-tasking mill/turn machines that produce extreme versatility, speed, and accuracy for the manufacturing of complex components. Our milling cell has a variety of 3 & 4-axis Mazak and Mori Seiki vertical and horizontal machining centers. Our CNC turning cell has a range of 2 & 3-axis Mazak Lathes with live tooling and barfeed.
Quality Control
At Cousins Engineering, we take quality control seriously. To allow us to maintain the strict quality control required by our diverse customer base, we operate under ISO 9001 certification. All components go through first off, in-process, and last off inspection within our dedicated quality department, using the latest inspection equipment.
