On the other hand, some reviewers had positive experiences with the staff, with Sarah being particularly welcoming and helpful according to Stephen White, and the staff being friendly according to Silverback Xxx.
Food and Drink
While some reviewers enjoyed their meals, others were disappointed. Drew Asher mentioned that half the menu was not available, including no fish and chips. N. On the other hand, some reviewers enjoyed their meals, with Dan Terry and Jane Berrie stating that the food was very nice. Silverback Xxx raved about the chips, and Stephen White was blown away by the beer and food.
Atmosphere and Facilities
The atmosphere of the pub was described as cosy by Dan Terry, and Silverback Xxx mentioned that the beer garden was large and great. However, some reviewers mentioned that the pub was in need of an upgrade, with Stephen White mentioning that the toilets were in need of attention. N. S. mentioned that the full address was The Folly, Newbury RG14 7HY.
Car Park and Location
Limited car parking was mentioned by Dan Terry as the reason for not giving a 5-star rating, and Sarah was welcoming and helpful despite the slow service according to Stephen White.
Pet-Friendly
Jeni Gardner mentioned that the pub was incredibly dog-friendly, making it a lovely place for a catch-up with friends.
Overall
While some reviewers had disappointing experiences, others enjoyed their visits. On the whole, the pub seems to have some areas that need attention, such as the staff and facilities, but also has some great points, such as the atmosphere and food.
