At H Tredwin & Son Ltd, we are an independent family-owned and run business that has been providing a caring, dignified, and professional service to the bereaved for over 150 years. Founded in 1860 by Harold Tredwin, our company has continued to help families through difficult times with compassion and understanding. Originally builders and funeral directors, we still offer handmade coffins, reflecting the practical skills passed down through the generations.
Our Story
Now in its fifth generation, our business is run by Nick Tredwin and his wife Louise, who provide a personal service with the emphasis on family values. Their sons Harry and Timmy have both worked in the business, and their daughter Kitty is on hand to help with her flower studio at our premises in Sampford Arundel. Nick's father, Francis, taught him the trade, and they worked together for many years before he passed away in 2006. Nick's formal training was done through the NAFD (National Association of Funeral Directors).

Our services include 24-hour assistance, 365 days a year, and we have our own chapel of rest, set in beautiful surroundings, as well as spacious offices in the centre of Wellington. We also offer pre-paid funeral plans, allowing you to plan and prepare for the future with peace of mind.
