Welcome to The George at Brailes
The George Inn, a fourteenth Century coaching house, is situated in the quaint village of Lower Brailes, nestled within the northern region of the Cotswolds. This historic establishment offers an ideal base for exploring popular destinations such as Chipping Campden, Stow on The Wold, Bourton-on-the-Water, Broadway, and Burford, all of which are within a short driving distance. The current building boasts numerous original features, including flagstone floors, inglenook fireplaces, original beams, and is encased in the iconic sandy Cotswold stone. The pub, named after the church opposite, is believed to have been constructed for the masons who built the adjacent church. Today, The George serves as a gathering spot for a loyal crowd of friendly locals and a diverse range of visitors from all over the world who all enjoy the cosy bar, intimate restaurant, large terrace, and one of the largest beer gardens in the area.
A Cosy Bar Experience
The George at Brailes is renowned for its friendly, casual atmosphere where locals and visitors alike enjoy drinks and conversations like old friends. The bar offers a range of Hook Norton Ales, two draft lagers and ciders, and the finest pint of Guinness in the area. Situated just five minutes from the world-famous Cotswold Distillery, we proudly stock a wide selection of its spirits. With a long-standing reputation for an exceptional and welcoming atmosphere, it is no surprise that The George is a go-to destination for many visitors.
