Providing a strong foundation for lifelong learning and growth
On behalf of the staff and governors, we extend a warm welcome to Pastures Way Nursery. We are proud to be part of The RICCHER Federation of Nursery Schools, established in May 2022, bringing together Gill Blowers Nursery School and Pastures Way Nursery School. Our Federation allows us to maintain the unique character of our individual schools while leveraging the benefits of a shared governance structure and leadership. We are committed to providing high-quality, extended services in our communities and promoting the best Early Years practice.
Our School
Situated in the Lewsey Farm area of Luton, Pastures Way Nursery School is a Luton Borough Council maintained Nursery School, offering 15 hours per week of free Early Years Education to children aged 3 - 5 years old. This entitlement can be accessed flexibly (subject to availability), although studies suggest that regular Monday - Friday attendance is most beneficial for children. Our school does not charge for these places.
In addition to free Early Years Education, we offer a range of childcare options for 0-5-year-olds, including breakfast and after-school care. Our fees are kept as low as possible, as we are a non-profit-making organisation.
Our Vision
At Pastures Way Nursery School, we strive to create a welcoming, safe, and stimulating learning environment that nurtures self-esteem and respect. We encourage curiosity, independence, active learning, and attainment, fostering a learning culture that helps children become successful, enthusiastic, and independent learners. We promote good health and enjoyment, having achieved the 'Healthy Eating Award' and preparing food on the premises with locally sourced fruit and vegetables.
Our Curriculum
We provide a balanced and broadly based curriculum that:
1. Promotes teaching and learning to ensure children's readiness for school.
2. Provides inclusive, accessible, and differentiated activities to meet the needs and interests of all children.
3. Uses the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) statutory framework as a basis for curriculum planning, organisation, and implementation.
4. Ensures coverage, progression, and depth of learning in all areas of the EYFS.

Extended Services
We offer a range of childcare services for children aged 0-5 years, including breakfast and after-school care. These services are non-profit making, with fees kept as low as possible.
Working Together
We believe that working in partnership with parents and carers is essential to support children's learning and development. We offer opportunities for parents and carers to be involved in their child's learning and the life of the school.
Additionally, we collaborate with various agencies, organisations, and the wider community to enrich the learning opportunities available to our children.
