Meet the Team

Our team is led by Claire Gould, a talented and experienced hairdresser who has spent over two decades perfecting her craft. Claire grew up in Malvern, Worcestershire, and began her hairdressing career as an apprentice at the age of 15. She quickly gained knowledge, experience, and confidence working with well-established brands such as L'Oreal and Wella. After moving to New Zealand, Claire continued to develop her skills through extended courses, advanced coloring workshops, and classes in innovative cutting techniques with top New Zealand hairdresser David Shields. She also participated in regional and national photographic competitions, which she loved.

In 2003, Claire opened her own salon in New Zealand, offering hair, beauty, and nail treatments, which quickly grew to a successful team of six. However, after falling ill due to an allergic reaction to one of the hair products she used in the salon, Claire began making arrangements to sell her business. She discovered the world of organic products and decided to retrain and work with organic products, allowing her to continue her passion for hairdressing safely and confidently. In 2011, Claire returned to England and her hometown of Malvern to open pHd Malvern.
