GROWING TOGETHER WITH LOVE
St Aidan's CE Primary School is a vibrant and inclusive community that embodies the values of 'GROWING TOGETHER WITH LOVE'. Our Christian vision is at the heart of everything we do, and we strive to encourage every child to flourish and grow through the unconditional love of God. We believe that every unique member of our school family deserves to feel rooted, loved, peaceful, and protected in our school family and in God's strong arms.
Our Christian Vision and Values
At St Aidan's, we are committed to creating a safe and supportive environment that reflects our Christian values. We believe that every child is a unique and precious gift, created in the image of God, and we strive to provide a nurturing and stimulating environment that fosters their spiritual, emotional, academic, and physical growth. Our values of love, kindness, respect, and compassion guide our actions and decisions, and we encourage our pupils to live out these values in their daily lives.
Our Curriculum
Our curriculum is carefully designed to provide a broad and balanced education that meets the needs of all our pupils. We offer a range of subjects, including English, mathematics, science, languages, and humanities, as well as a range of extra-curricular activities that cater to different interests and abilities. We also place a strong emphasis on promoting British values, including respect, tolerance, and understanding, and we encourage our pupils to take an active role in our school community.
Extra-Curricular Activities
In addition to our formal curriculum, we offer a range of extra-curricular activities that provide opportunities for our pupils to develop new skills, build relationships, and have fun. These activities include sports teams, music and drama clubs, and a range of outdoor and adventure activities. We believe that these activities play an important role in helping our pupils develop a sense of identity, build confidence, and make lifelong friendships.
Support for Our Pupils
We recognize that every child is unique and may require different levels of support to achieve their academic and personal goals. We offer a range of support services, including pastoral care, emotional wellbeing support, and SEND provision, to ensure that every pupil feels valued and supported. We also work closely with parents and carers to ensure that our pupils receive the best possible support and guidance.
Our Church School
As a church school, we have a special relationship with our local church and community. We work closely with our church to provide worship and prayer opportunities, as well as to promote charitable work and community engagement. Our church and community play an important role in our school life, and we value the support and friendship that we receive from them.
Our History
We are proud of our rich history, which dates back to the 1920s. Over the years, we have been fortunate enough to have had many dedicated teachers, staff, and governors who have worked tirelessly to provide an excellent education for our pupils. We have also been supported by our local community, who have always been generous in their time and resources.
Our Future
As we look to the future, we are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead. We are committed to continuing to provide a high-quality education that meets the needs of every pupil, and we are proud to be part of the Durham and Newcastle Diocesan Learning Trust. We believe that every child deserves the best possible start in life, and we are dedicated to helping them achieve their full potential.
