Where creativity knows no bounds and imagination runs free
Grasshoppers in the Park is a warm, friendly, parent-led, full day care provider that welcomes children from two to five years old. We are a parent-led nursery, staffed and managed by highly valued and qualified Early Years Practitioners in partnership with our very active parent committees. Through this close working relationship with parents, we are able to offer a friendly and homely environment to our children.
Our nursery is a supportive and lively place where you will get to know all your child's friends and can be involved in how they spend their time. As a parent-led nursery, Grasshoppers gives parents a unique opportunity to be directly involved in decisions about all aspects of the running of the nursery. Everything from gardening and DIY, laundry & sewing, social events (with and without the children), fundraising and accounting, is all undertaken by our wonderful parent community.

Our Philosophy
Our aim is to provide an enriching experience for the children and to be an asset to the wider community. We believe that by working together, parents, and staff can create a unique and supportive environment that fosters a sense of community and encourages learning and development. We take an interdisciplinary approach to understanding early childhood, and we believe that delving into ideas and thinking about them deeply is important to ensure that children are treated with the alertness, with the humour, and with the reciprocity they deserve.
Overall Experience
The review highlights a positive experience with a nursery, where the author's daughter is reportedly very happy. The child's enthusiasm for her daily routine is impressive, as she never wants to leave the nursery, preferring to stay and play with her friends in the garden.
Facilities and Amenities
The nursery has a big, spacious garden with plenty of toys and a mud kitchen that the child loves. The garden provides an excellent opportunity for the children to explore and engage in creative play.
Staff and Care
The teachers are described as kind and trustworthy, suggesting a high level of care and attention given to the children. This is reassuring for parents, who want to have confidence in the people responsible for their child's well-being.
