Our History

Duncan J Maclean Painting & Decorating was established in 1981, when I, Duncan J Maclean, acquired David McKague Decorating. Over the next five years, I built up the business by hiring experienced decorators from the north of England and Ireland. In 1984, I began researching durable paints, eventually settling on Sikkens Paints after trials at TRADA showed their superiority in our climate. Our close relationship with Sikkens UK led to the development of our 25-year maintenance scheme and the use of their renowned Resin-based repair compound, Componex HR.
