Learning and Achieving through Love, Courage and Respect

Brighstone C.E. Aided Primary School is a small, friendly school located in the beautiful village of Brighstone on the Isle of Wight. We are proud to serve our local community and provide a high-quality education to children aged 4-11. Our school is small enough for each child to feel known and valued, yet large enough to offer a wide range of learning experiences.

Our School and Team

Our school is set in an idyllic village location, providing a stunning backdrop for children's learning. We are lucky to have spacious grounds, which include a playground, field, and forest area. Our team of dedicated staff and governors work hard to ensure that every child feels happy, safe, and supported during their time at our school.

We believe that close links between home and school are vital in promoting a nurturing environment for the well-being and success of every child. We welcome parents' help, support, and involvement, both in and out of school, to provide the very best opportunities for each child.

Our Values

Our school values of love, courage, and respect are promoted and shared throughout all aspects of school life. We believe that these values help to create a positive and inclusive community where everyone can thrive.

Our Curriculum

We provide a rich and stimulating curriculum that is designed to engage and challenge all children. We believe that children learn best when they are actively involved in their learning, and we provide a wide range of opportunities for children to learn both inside and outside the classroom.

Our curriculum is designed to develop children's skills, knowledge, and understanding across a broad range of subjects, including English, mathematics, science, art, music, and PE. We also place great importance on personal and social education, and we provide a comprehensive programme of PSHE lessons and activities.

Our Extracurricular Activities

We offer a wide range of extracurricular activities, including sports clubs, art and craft clubs, and music groups. These activities provide children with the opportunity to develop new skills, make new friends, and have fun.

Our Community

We are proud to be at the heart of our local community, and we work closely with a range of local organisations and groups. We believe that by working together, we can provide the best possible opportunities for our children.

We have strong links with our local church, and we provide regular opportunities for children to take part in acts of worship and to learn about the Christian faith.

Our Commitment to Safeguarding

We are committed to ensuring that our school is a safe and welcoming environment for all children. We have rigorous safeguarding procedures in place, and all staff are trained in safeguarding and child protection.
